"Wet 'N Wild was
definitely worth
the trip" - We
had a fantastic
time visiting
Wet 'N Wild on a
hot summer day
in August. This
is a nice park
to visit when
you want to
relax from your
all day tours at
the attractions.
It is
conveniently
located on
International
Drive. Now owned
by Universal
Studios, you can
count on a first
class water
park. Most of
the rides I
found to be
easily
accessible. One
of the newest
rides in the
park is the
Storm, a
swirling
coaster that
throws you out
to the ends
while you hand
on for dear
life. If you
like rides in
the dark I would
suggest the
Black Hole, this
will keep you in
suspense all the
way through a
black tunnel
which
seems never
end. if you
have small
children they'll
love climbing to
the top of the
Bubble Up ride,
and then sliding
down while water
guns are aimed
at them on the
way down. I
personally
enjoyed relaxing
on an inner tube
while winding
around the lazy
river. If your
really brave, I
recommend
The Bomb Bay,
almost vertical
76 foot drop
slides which
have floors
that open up at
a moments
notice. Overall
it was a wonder
family day at
Wet 'N Wild, I
would recommend
it for anyone.

"Typhoon
Lagoon's wave
pool was
awesome" - Not
surprising,
Disney
maintained its
water
parks first
class,
they looked
like they had
not aged a
bit. The theme
of the park is a
tropical
hideaway which
was a
shipwrecked
fishing boat
perched on top
of Mount Mayday
after a
post-storm
fallout.
Beautiful shops
line the
entrance of the
park where you
can buy your
favorite Disney
souvenirs. Don't
forget to get a
locker, an
absolute must
for people with
towels and
things.
Surrounding the
park is Castaway
Creek and you'll
need to take a
bridge over it
to get to the
main park.
Suddenly after a
bit of walking,
we saw the
biggest man made
waves you could
imagine in the
wave pool.
They were so big
that people were
actually surfing
the wave while
trying to dodge
the little folk.
We tried the
based slides
that are in
abundance around
Mayday Falls.
Even though the
Storm slides
were less then
unattractive for
an adult, I
recommend them
for the
children. But
the star of the
show is the 45
meter drop
called Humnga
Cowabunga, and
they get you to
the bottom as
fast as
possible.

"Blizzard Beach
was a royal
blast" - Not to
many people know
that there is a
legend behind
the theme of
Blizzard Beach.
The legend has
it that some
freak storm
occurred over
the snow-ski
resort and
immediately
after, the
temperature
soared causing
the ice to melt
rapidly. As a
result the icy
slopes began to
melt creating
the tallest and
fastest
down-hill slides
in the
world. First we
tried the
bobsleds down
"the snowy"
slopes of Mt.
Gushmore that
plunged straight
down at 60 mph.
We felt like we
were in a
northern ski
resort in the
mountains.
Imagine, a major
ski resort in
the middle of a
tropical lagoon
what a creative
idea! Later, we
tried the newest
waterslide, the
Downhill Double
Dipper were
guests can race
down a 50 ft
high 200 foot
long slide at 25
mph. It takes
you twisting and
turning before
shooting out of
a curtain of
water. In
addition, Mt
Gushmore also
offers slalom
courses,
toboggan and
water sled runs
and the awesome,
120-ft-high
Summit Plummet
-- the nation's
tallest, fastest
free-fall speed
slide, visible
from almost
anywhere in the
park.
