The town of Foxborough were originally skeptical about the stadiums construction; however in 1999 the funds were approved and work on the stadium began on March 24th in 2000. Since its finish in 2002 the stadium has been a huge success, bring games and events to the area never before achievable. The venue has since hosted the NFL's primetime season opening games in both 2004 and 2005 and unveiled their championship banners from the Super Bowl XXXVIII and XXXIX.
