Mel Brooks has created some of the classic and gut splitting comedies in the history of the silver screen. Brooks has a very quick witted and original sense of humor
that you will see when you watch his movies. He thought that it would be a great idea to bring that humor to the stage and it work amazingly. The Producers
was Mel Brooks' first hit movie that he brought to Broadway and it wound up being a smash hit. Years later, Brooks decided that it would be a wonderful idea if he could
bring another hit comedy to the stage, Young Frankenstein. Mel Brooks has said that out of all of his films, Young Frankenstein sits at the top of his
favorites list. Young Frankenstein was brought to Broadway in 2007 and in 2009, the cast took to the road and started touring across the country.
Just in case you have not seen the movie, Young Frankenstein is a story of Frederick Frankenstein, the grandson of the infamous monster creating scientist Dr. Victor
von Frankenstein. Frederick did not want to be associated with is grandfather's name, so he changed his name to Frederick von Fronkensteen. He moved to America and was dean at
the prestigious Johns, Miriam and Anthony Hopkins School of Medicine. Frederick had no desire to go back to the land of his father and the people of Transylvania did not care if
Frederick, or any other Frankenstein, ever returned. However, as fate would have it, in his grandfather's will, Victor left Frankenstein Castle to Frederick, requiring him to travel
to Transylvania to take care of this issue.
Of course, even though Frederick does not want to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, the overwhelming Frankenstein sense of experimentation takes over and Frederick finds himself in
quite the precarious situation. With the help of his grandfather's assistant's grandson, Igor, and a lab assistant that Frederick hires, Inga, Frederick puts the gears in motion and
begins to put together the monster that his grandfather started. Hilarity and hi-jinks ensue as the rest of the story plays out and you will be able to witness it all when you attend
