When you are looking for a stage musical on Broadway when you are vacationing in New York City, there are many shows to choose from and it can be hard to decide which show to see. Well, you know that you cannot go wrong, whatever you decide, because every show on Broadway is amazing and it really just depends on what you are in the mood for. There is one show, in particular, that you will be sure to have a great time at and that show is Mary Poppins. You cannot get in on a better show when you combine the theatrics of Broadway and the whimsical story telling of a Disney movie. Mary Poppins is a show that you do not want to miss out on when you are in the area.

Mary Poppins on Broadway is a musical that is based on the famous and classic Disney movie and of the same name and the children books by author P.L. Travers. Cameron Mackintosh and Pamela Travers thought it would be a great idea to bring Mary Poppins to the stage. After all, the movie is full of such memorable and fun songs like "Chim Chim Chur-ee" '"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", and, of course, "A Spoon Full of Sugar", not to mention the many fabulous dance routines. Mackintosh and Travers where able to attain the rights to the book and in 1993, they began work on the book for Mary Poppins.

The show begins with Bert, who tells the story of the Banks family, who live on Cherry Tree Lane, through the familiar song, "Chim Chim Chur-ee". You will see that the children of the family, Michael and Jane, behave very badly for their nanny and they force her to flee the home, leaving their parents, George and Winifred, in a precarious situation. The children thought it would be best if they constructed the announcement for their next nanny. However, this does not go over well with their father and he destroys the letter. This act summons the picture perfect nanny and then Mary Poppins enters the scene. Mary's many interactions with the children eventually teach them about life and how to act. While Mary tends to the children, George and Winifred try to sort out some of the issues that they face.

All of this is told in an exciting and fun way, a way that you will only see on a Broadway stage. Join the cast and crew as they produce one of the hottest shows running today.
