Mike Bliss was born on April 5th, 1965 in Milwaukie, Oregon. He currently races the #9 Phoenix Racing car in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Mike started his high speed career in racing at the early age of just ten years old! Aside from his 2002 Camping World Truck Series championship, Mike has won the USAC Siler Crown Championship in 1993. Mike started racing in NASCAR in the Craftsman Truck Series (now Camping World Truck Series) in 1995; that year, Mike finished 8th in the rankings. The following year, he would pick up a sponsorship from ASE Racing and win a few key races setting him 3 notches higher on the ladder. He would sign with Roush Fenway Racing in 1998 and rock his way to 5th place in the series standings. This hard driving left Mike open to a barrage of offers to race in the Cup Series and he would bite on one, from Bahari Racing. Bliss ran two races for this team then moved over to A.J Foyt Racing. Mike would come really close to gaining the Rookie of the Year achievement for that season but was let go due to the teamís lack of owner points. Mike Blissí current Nationwide stats include a best 5th place finish, two wins, 67 top ten spots, and three poles. His overall stats for the Camping World Truck Series include his Championship in 2002, 13 total wins, 109 top ten finishes, and 18 poles. He holds 6 top ten spots and placed 28th in the standings as his best Cup finish in the Sprint Cup Series.
