Martin Truex Jr. was born on June 29th, 1980 in Mayetta, New Jersey. Martin is a driver in NASCARís Sprint Cup Series driving the #56 NAPA Auto Parts for Michael Waltrip Racing. Martin began racing at age 11 where he started racing go-karts. He would win several races and championships in his karting career. Martin raced go-karts for seven years before progressing to modified stock cars as his father did before him. Martin was following his fatherís footsteps so well that he raced in the Wall Stadium Turkey Derby as his father had done years before him; he won the race just like his father did too! From this point, getting into NASCAR was simple. With all of Martinís success on the track, there was no way he couldnít make it in the big leagues. Martin began in the Camping World Truck Series driving for his familyís team. In the Camping World Truck Series, East, Truex Jr. would win 13 poles and 5 wins. From there, he moved onto the Nationwide series taking 13 wins, 58 top ten finishes, and 10 poles winning the series two seasons in a row in 2004 and 2005. Martin would move up to the Sprint Cup Series and race in the #1 Bass Pro Shops / DEI car locking in his first win at the 2007 Nextel All-Star Open. Oday, Martin races as the successor to the Waltrip line in the #56 NAPA car racking up top ten finishes with an overall standing of 43 for the Sprint Cup Series. He also holds his one win and 5 pole positions in the Sprint Cup Series.
