Marcos Ambrose was born on September 1st, 1976 in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. He is a driver in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series for JTG Daugherty Racing in the #47 Little Debbie/Clorox/Kingsford Toyota. Ambrose started early racing karts at ten years of age, dominating in the junior division of karting in Tasmania. He would walk away from the junior division with four titles and move onto the senior division and dominate there as well. Marcos made his way to Formula One racing in 1996, and in 1999 Marcos would win the European Formula Ford championship. Even with his heavy win streak and ease around a track, he would be forced back home due to a lack of funding in his team. From there he would move to V8 Supercars where he would become the 2003-2004 V8 Supercar champion. After a crash in 2005 in round ten of the series, he would go without a title but in 2010, he would be voted “Best V8 Supercar driver ever” by VBX Magazine. Moving forward, Marcos would enter the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series placing 21st in the series in 2006. He has a career record of four top ten finishes and one pole in the truck series. Marcos stepped it up in the Nationwide Series with an overall best finish of 6th place in 2007. His stats for the Nationwide Series include three wins, 14 top ten finishes, and three poles. In the Sprint Cup Series, Marcos has pulled out a best finish in the standings of 18th place in 2009 and eight top ten finishes.
