Jeff Gordon was born on August 4th, 1971 in Vallejo, California. From the time Jeff was 5, he had been into racing. He started on a dirt track that he and his stepfather had converted over in their hometown. Jeff would run a ¾ Midget car around this track over and over, gaining experience for the way the car drove, how it handled around turns, and how it excelled in a straight away. Jeff had a rough time with competition starting off, but he would prove his worth when he started winning championships and setting records at the green age of six. At 13 Jeff had the fire in him to drive higher horsepower so he attempted to drive sprint cars. Unfortunately, the rule was that you had to be 16 or older to race the 650 horsepower beasts. After appealing over and over, Jeff’s family won him a seat in a sprint car where he would dominate the competition and gain notoriety as a result of his young age and amazing driving skills. At one point, Jeff was left without any open-wheel racing opportunities Jeff was introduced to stock car racing where he became hooked. At this point Jeff knew exactly what he wanted to do for the rest of his days. Jeff has brought in a ton of championships and awards in NASCAR including the 91 Nationwide Busch Series Rookie of the Year and the 95/97/98/and 2001 Winston Cup Championships. He also won the Daytona 500 three times, the Allstate 400 4 times and the Sprint All-Star race three times.
