Welcome to the Chick-fil-A Bowl, one of the most anticipated sports events in the United States. With thousands of screaming fans cheering on their teams the roar of the stadium can be heard from miles and miles away. With hard hitting action and displays of athletic talent the Chick-fil-A Bowl isn't just another bowl, it's an annual event where two teams come together in a display of athletic talents. This inspiring match features two selected teams from the league to play in a head on competition to declare the better team, what more could one possibly ask for? The Chick-fil-A Bowl was previously known as the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and shortly before that simply just the Peach Bowl. The name change was obviously a request of the sponsors; however the true meaning behind the bowl has endeavored to stay the same. Everyone likes a good game, especially when the teams are playing to defend their honor, and that's exactly what the Chick-fil-A Bowl will bring to you, the fan. The events and entertainment surrounding the Chick-fil-A Bowl promote the game in a wide variety of ways. From a huge amount of street side shopping to the memorabilia that can be found at just about every corner in the city your weekend can be filled with anything and everything football. The Peach Bowl has been around since 1968, where it originally started on Grant Field at the Georgia Tech Campus in Atlanta. An interesting fact about the Peach Bowl is that when it was created its intent was to be a fun raiser, its original creators the Lions Club. However, several years after its creation the game was commandeered by the Chamber of Commerce, where it received its initial “make-over” and became a promising event. When the game eventually picked up momentum it decided to switch stadiums to the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. From 1971 to 1991 a total of twenty years this is where the game was held, before changing to Atlanta's Georgia Dome. The Dome seats just over 71,000 fans; and you can absolutely bet that on game day those seats are going to fill up to capacity. The Chick-fil-A Bowl boasts that in 2005 it reaches its pinnacle and joined in with the prestige when it hosted its first ever matchup of two top ten rated teams. The Chick-fil-A Bowl is still a growing bowl, and it continues to bring more and more people in each year. With more and more teams from the College Football League participating its easy to see why this great and entertaining bowl holds a future in the hearts of Georgia fans and sports enthusiasts.
