Adam Lambert, of American Idol fame released his first album, For Your Entertainment, in 2009 after he finished as runner up on the show a few months earlier. He is also the first openly gay mainstream pop artist to
launch on a major label. Other than his budding music career, Lambert is actually a very involved stage actor, having been a performer since he was ten years old and cast in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Following
this, in Fiddle on the Roof, and then Hello, Dolly!, Chess, The Music Man, Camelot, Captain Hook, and Grease. As for his music career, he says he was inspired to audition for American Idol after a psychedelic trip
during a Burning Man Festival, and from there he managed to reach runner up on the show. He was commented as being the most consistently good performers of the show, and a truly gifted singer. Since the show, he has
gained both the Young Hollywood Artist of the Year Award, and the Teen Choice Award for Reality/Variety Star. After some controversy involving sexually suggestive contact on stage, Lambert was uninvited by Good
Morning America, and instead performed on The Early Show. He is currently part of the Glam Nation Tour, an international event.
