The Zac Brown Band has been around since the turn of the century and has released eight albums, one as a compilation, three live albums, and the remaining as studio albums. The band wasn’t officially formed until
2002 when Zac Brown to do music full time, and set strong tour schedule for the year. With over 200 dates a year, the Zac Brown Band was already doing a lot of their own work and Brown formed his own label called
Home Grown in 2003, which was eventually renamed Southern Ground for legal reasons. A year later, he opened a music club and restaurant in Georgia with his father called “Zac’s Place” which specialized in southern
cooking. While playing at the restaurant on weekends, the Zab Brown Band was still actively playing on the road and eventually made that the full time job again by playing at assorted rock and country clubs and jam
festivals. By now, the group had released 2 studio albums and in 2006, they met Keith Stegall, and he produced their next album, The Foundation. This album was signed by the label Live Nation and then the band signed
to Live Nation two years later. Before 2008 was up though, Live Nation dissolved and Atlantic Records took up their contract and released The Foundation to the nation. Throughout the hand changing of their contract,
the band produced 3 singles called “Chicken Fried,” “Whatever It Is,” and shortly after Atlantic took over “Toes.” Their second hit came from “Toes” following “Chicken Fried” the previous year. Today, the band still
tours and most recently played at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2009 and in 2010.
