Son of Tug McGraw, a former baseball player, Tim McGraw has had a meteoric rise to the top of the country charts and even the pop charts. With well known titles like “I Like It, I
Love It,” and “Don’t Take the Girl,” McGraw has secured his position among the country music elite. He has also recently showed an interest in acting with roles in The Blind Side, Four Christmases, The Kingdom, and
Friday Night Lights. He was awarded the National Italian American Foundation Special Achievement Award in Music in 2004 the same year his album, Live Like You Were Dying released. Before 2004, he released seven
previous albums titled Tim McGraw, Not a Moment Too Soon, All I Want, Everywhere, A Place in the Sun, Set This Circus Down, and Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors. His first album only gained minor hits, but with
his second album and the song, “Don’t Take the Girl,” McGraw tasted massive success by hitting number one on the country chart. Multiple songs from the album showed lasting success as the album’s title track became
the first place country single the following year. Southern Voice is likely McGraw’s last album working with Curb records after a dispute over releasing a third greatest hits album of him without his permission and
which he does not approve of. The profits from his Soul2Soul II Tour New Orleans show were donated to the Hurricane Katrina Relief. He is currently doing tours on and off with his wife all across the United States.
