Brad Paisley has very recently appeared on the American Country Music scene with a staggering number of number one songs over the last decade since his debut in 1999. All of his albums have reached at least gold status as stated by the RIAA with fifteen of his twenty-five singles hitting the first place spot on country music charts. In fact, he has a record ten consecutive number one singles so far, and his love of pop culture references and humor in his music suggest that his sales won’t be slowing anytime soon. He has released seven albums to date with the first titled Who Needs Pictures that dropped in 1999. In the same year he appeared on the Grand Ole Opry, a syndicated country music showcase. Less than a year later, his song “He Didn’t Have to Be,” hit first place on the charts, and “We Danced” followed soon after resulting in the first two of his consecutive major hits. In 2001, his debut album went platinum. His second album, Part II, featured “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” and other successful singles “I Wish You’d Stay,” “Two People Fell in Love,” and “Wrapped Around.” All of which were chart toppers as the album remained on the charts for over seventy weeks and was certified platinum mid following year. His next album, Mud on the Tires jokingly mocks the public’s fascination with reality TV game shows like American Idol, Fear Factor, and The Bachelorette. The title track reached number one in 2004. His next albums continue the trend of chart toppers, parody and light hearted fun at pop culture’s expense. With a recent performance at the at White House, his career shows no sign of slowing down.
