 Phantom
The Las Vegas Spectacular is located in the Venetian
Resort and Casino which spent about forty million
dollars to design the theater that was built for
“Phantom of the Opera”. They renamed it “Phantom The Las
Vegas Spectacular” and people knew right away they were
getting more than just a Broadway musical. Fans of the
original Phantom of the Opera will not be disappointed
with the revised Phantom show.
The creator of this show is Andrew Lloyd Webber along
with director Hal Prince, choreographer Gillian Lynne
and some others from the shows original creative team
have all helped with this new show. The original show
went from being two and a half hours long to now being
an hour and thirty five minutes. There have been some
dialogue and the intermission that was cut from the
original show but Webber’s most popular songs still
remain intact. Some of the things that distinguish the
original show from the new one here in Las Vegas are the
new seats and special effects and the 1,800 seat theater
which is a spectacle itself.
The music of the night includes Phantom celebrating
their one year anniversary in Las Vegas. The audience is
said to be very shocked but excited about what they see
in the show. They go into the show expecting one thing
and get another and they are astounded by what they see.
The reason the audience is so appreciative is due to the
cast such as Anthony Crivello as the Phantom, Kristi
Holden and Amanda Huddleston play Christine Daae and
Andrew Ragone as Raoul. The show is a tale of unrequited
love and is based upon Gaston Leroux’s famous novel
called Paris Opera House which is about a ghost
haunting. This house that is said to be haunted, is
haunted by the Phantom of the Opera who lives under the
house. Christine Daae is tutored by a very mysterious
man which she believes is her “angel of music”. This
show is a very interesting and entertaining show that
everyone will love.
The show is kid friendly starting with age six and up.
There are smoke effects, pyrotechnics and many other
special effects. There are of course VIP seating along
with backstage tours, private meet and greet with the
Phantom and a souvenir program.
