Boys first opened on November 6, 2005 and this show set
records at the box office continuously. Jersey Boys was such
a hit when they first started the show that they won four
Tony’s Awards in the year 2006 including Best Musical. There
was an original show recording and they have won the Grammy
Award for Best Recording Show and still remain the best
selling CD for shows today. The show Jersey Boys is all
about the story of Frank Vallie and Four Seasons. There are
four blue collar boys coming from Newark and tried working
their way to stardom. They had hits such as “Sherry”, “Big
Girls don’t Cry”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”, “Oh What
A Night”, and many many more.
On stage and behind stage of the Las Vegas production of
Four Seasons Jersey Boys are director Des McAnuff, the
choreographer Sergio Trujillo, the authors Marshall Brickman
and Rick Elice, and of course The Four Seasons Boys. This
show is held in the Palazzo which is a stand alone resort
and was built by the Las Vegas Sands Company. These Jersey
Boys will have the audience singing along just like they do
on Broadway.
The lead of the show is Frankie Vallie, John Lloyd Young is
the one who plays Frankie Vallie. Young graduated from Brown
University, then moved to New York. In New York, Young
worked his way up in theater with many scenes and roles in
regional plays and off-Broadway shows. Young didn’t get the
role of Frankie Vallie when he first auditioned but about a
year after his auditioned he was called to play the lead
role on Broadway. On November 9, 2007 was when Young’s role
ended with Jersey Boys. Some of the awards Young has
received are the Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle
Award, Theater World Award, and Tony Award for Best Actor in
Musical. All of these awards were won in the year of 2006.
