American
Superstars is performed at the Stratosphere
in Las Vegas. It has some of the best
impersonators around, from the “King of Rock
n Roll” to the “King of Pop” you will be
able to see it all at this show. The show
includes Elvis, Tim McGraw, Rod Stewart,
Christina Aguilera, and Carrie Underwood who
are played by Darren Lee, Chad Givens, John
Anthony, Lorena Peril, and Felice Garcia.
The opening act starts with the song “Viva
Las Vegas” as Darren Lee appears on stage
with dancers dressed at showgirls dressed in
traditional show girl outfits. Lee has those
electric hips that are paired with the
familiar tune that can get everyone in the
audience clapping and singing along. Lee
performs his Elvis impressions all over the
world. In 1997 he won an award called the
“Images of Elvis” competition that was held
in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the first
Canadian to win this award which made him
one of the top Elvis impersonators in the
world at that time. Some of the other songs
he performs are “Blue Suede Shoes” and
“Burning Love.” After Lee is done amazing
the audience with his smooth voice and
electric hips, he disappears off the stage
for the next performer.
There are dancers that dance with the main
acts as well as in between each act to keep
the audience occupied. The next performer is
Tim McGraw as Chad Givens performs some of
McGraw’s most popular songs. Then it’s Rod
Stewart who starts off singing
“Infatuation.” Next is Lorena Peril as
Christina Aguilera singing “Ain’t No Other
Man,” “Beautiful,” and “Lady Marmalade.” The
last performance is saved for the best one
of them all. The last performance is Michael
Jackson played by Damian Brantley. It is
said that Brantley dances, sings, and looks
just like the real “King of Pop.” This is a
great show of impersonators and everyone who
watches the show will not be disappointed.
