The Amazing Johnathan is an incredibly different type of
show for anyone who likes “Dumb and Dumber”, “Tommy Boy”,
“There’s Something About Mary” and “Planes, Trains, and
Automobiles.” This show will give a way to torture their
friends when they go home. He is known as the “Freddy
Krueger of Comedy”. Before the actual shows starts there is
a screen in the middle of the stage that is showing clips
from the movies that were mentioned above just to give the
audience a little taste of what they are in for. After the
movie clips the screen shows the audience and as the camera
surfs the crowd and zooms in on people, then the pranks
start. When the people first see themselves on the screen
they get excited and start to cheer and wave, but then
that’s when the phrases show up on the screen such as
“hookers,” “hung like a Tic Tac,” “Unemployed Porn Star,”
“My fake ID worked,” and “thinks she is here to see Wayne
Newton.”
This is where the laughter came in, who doesn’t like to
laugh at other people’s expense! After the show officially
starts, Amazing Johnathan calls up an audience member to
help him with a large portion of his show. The first thing
he asks the volunteer for is a twenty dollar bill, Amazing
Johnathan rips the twenty dollar bill into two pieces and
tries many different “magic” tricks to put it back together.
After he has failed to put it back together with magic, he
tapes the bill back together, complete with a carrying case.
Amazing Johnathan has a trusty sidekick named Psychic Tanya,
who has taken in a lot of abuse. Some of the abuse Psychic
Tanya has taken is getting scissors stuck in her head, stuff
dropped on her from above, smacked, insulted, and
humiliated. One of the most popular head liners that Amazing
Johnathan does is when he points out that “the hamster is
dead, but the wheel is still spinning.”
Psychic Tanya plays as a dumb blonde who, even though she
has many handicaps, has no problem standing up to Amazing
Johnathan which in turn gives off a hilarious affect. This
is not a show for people who are easily offended, those
people are encouraged to go see David Copperfield. Johnathan
actually convinces the audience that the magic man is even
there to see the show and as the audience turns to look,
Amazing Johnathan yells at them and says “You came here to
see me!” Amazing Johnathan has appeared on a few television
shows such as Comedy Central, David Letterman, Arsenio Hall,
The X Show, and many others. Johnathan has also won the
International Magic Award for “Best Comedy Magician” twice.
People will be able to find this show in the Planet
Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. The show will blow people’s
minds and will have them laughing all night.
