The Bellagio Hotel and Casino is located on the Las Vegas Strip in the Paradise area. The Bellagio is owned by MGM Mirage and was built on the Dunes hotel and casino which was demolished. The hotel first opened in October 15, 1998. It was just before 11 p.m. They held a ceremony that cost 88 million dollars. But the original construction of the project cost 1.6 billion dollars, which was at the time the most expensive hotel ever built. Inside the Bellagio is the Cirque du Soleil production of "O."

This hotel and casino is so big that it has 10,000 employees. The casino floor was just recently remodeled and new uniforms were given out in the fall of 2006. The Fountains of Bellagio are a whole other story. These Fountains are huge and choreographed with performances set to light and music. These fountains are also known as the musical fountain. Every 30 minutes in the early afternoons and evenings, the fountains perform a show. People know when the show is about to start due to the nozzles break the water surface. Some of the songs that the Fountains have performed to are "My Heart Will Go On," "All That Jazz," "Luck Be A Lady," "Viva Las Vegas," "This Kiss," and many more. This fountain show is definitely worth every minutes and can be seen from almost anywhere on the Strip. Another attraction at the Bellagio is a Conservatory and Botanical Garden. The displays in the garden are changed out five times a year to reflect the current season.

This hotel was inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy, so therefore The Bellagio of Las Vegas is famous for elegance, the inside of the Bellagio, Dale Chihuly's Fiori di Como made more than 2,000 hand blown glass flowers that cover the lobby ceiling that is about 2,000 square feet.
