The Showgirl Must Go OnJubilee at Bally's in Las Vegas is about showgirls, topless and covered, performing historical scenes, as well as singing, dancing and other special events. It is a Las Vegas production with all the glory and glitter that goes into a great Vegas show. Bob Mackie, designer of Cher's costumes, and Peter Menefree originally designed all the show's costumes; which number about a thousand, with 8000 miles of sequins. With some headpieces weighing almost 35 pounds, and silver plated Swarovski crystals, these ladies are adorned magnificently. While half the size of a football field and weighing in at 4 tons, these huge stage can easily handle the 85 or so exotic women performing wonderful routines from shows, skits, dances and songs. One skit includes a Delilah and Samson scene where the temple is destroyed and another fantastic sequence involves the sinking of the Titanic. With great stamina and beauty, these women wow the audiences with beautiful music and dance routines that exude great talent and even greater practicing.

In between the dazzling glitz of these beauties, other fantastically talented people perform amazing feats of agility and balance. The Long Twins are acrobat/contortionist that put on a wonderful routine that leaves audiences wondering how it is humanly possible to attain such impossible positions. Stoyan and Dimitri are aerial acrobats flying high above the audience performing such great feats of courage and abilities that the audience is on the edge of their seats the whole time. With drumbeats thundering through their ears the audience is mesmerized with the Los Huincas Argentinean Gauchos twirling their boleadoras with great pride and expertise. The grand finale is a special tribute to Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, with the beautiful beauties dressed in tails and top hats descending a great staircase with every colored hue under the sun with such style and grace that both actor/dancers would be so proud.

Jubilee has been in Las Vegas since it opened in 1981 and the show just keeps bringing in the audiences, with their dazzling costumes, scantily clad bodies and a line of beautiful and sculpted women singing and dancing their way into the hearts and minds of those coming to Vegas for just these kinds of shows. It originally was directed by Donn Arden who brought Lido de Paris to the strip in 1959 and since it was one of the first topless shows to come to Vegas and was such a fantastic success, these topless shows seam to be a winning combination with talented and beautiful women. These women have been voted the best showgirls by the Las Vegas Review Journal's best of Las Vegas reader's poll. After reading some of the reviews, it is very obvious that this show is for all intents quite classy and professional with much style and glamour. Some seem to feel that this show epitomes the Vegas show, with girls, glamour and glitz; great music and dancing and enough special acts to make this show so interesting and seamless. Even those in the show business couldn't help but say how well and wonderful it was, even when they went into the show hoping it was not quite up to what was said about it.
