The Showgirl Must Go OnDesigned by the great Tom Weiskopf, the Falls Golf Club is a nerve wracking 7250 yard course, par 72, with terrain as difficult as it gets. With rocky mountain foothills, to stark desert, the elevation of the land has been incorporated into the playing field that will excite even the novice golfer. With 3 magnificent waterfalls and 11 lakes spread across the acreage, and a mountain range in the background, this is a very enjoyable course with great aesthetics and beautiful scenery. Lake Las Vegas is a spectacular sight set in the heart of the desert with the shimmering blue water, surrounded by the stark variance of the desert all beneath a marvelous blue sky.

Using the natural arroyos and desert canyons, the course plays well, giving you a chance to get your game up to par and practice makes perfect right. The ruggedness of this landscape will make the challenges great, but they aren't daunting. Going through the first four or five holes will start getting you ready for the formidable play needed for the back nine. With the addition of the fantastic waterfalls, the elevated tees and greens, you will need to get up to your best game during the first nine. The falls are located at the 11th and 17th holes, with variances of up to 300 feet between the 10th and 18th holes; with the tees and greens giving you a clue to what lies ahead. The par 5 number 12 is 553 yards rising up to the highest elevation of the back nine; with a blind second shot needed as it goes through a narrow fairway. At the green, which is double tiered, the closely cropped grass sits on the edge of a mountain making the play that much more exciting. The nicest view of the Vegas strip is from here and well worth the extra few minutes you'll take to enjoy it. The 13th and 14th are par 4s, with elevation changes of only a 100 feet between tee and greens. The 388 yard 13th tee sits 100 feet above the fairway and has to be driven to the left side or you'll be facing a wall of rocks that spill onto the fairway there. The 336 yard number 14 tee is only 279 yards from the green, which sits over 150 feet above the fairway, making this hole a duzzy. Probably the hardest hole of the first nine is the number 7, which is a par 5, 519 yards; it winds through a small canyon and a bad desert wash splits the fairway from front to back. A very exciting course that brings all your skills to bear, with great shots and beautiful scenery to make this course a wonderful play. But it isn't an easy course to play, because of the strategic locations of the bunkers and the roughness of the desert areas spilling onto the fairway. Weiskopf has taken the best of the desert attributes and enhanced them enough to make the play an A game for anyone coming to the course. Pinpoint accuracy and determination are necessary clubs in your bag here.

The course is definitely one of the finest in the area, with fantastic views and top notch amenities available. Fashioned after a Tuscan winery, the clubhouse offers its own unique views of the mountains and deserts around the course. The natural stone walls that are inside the clubhouse accentuate the decorum and the windows let the magnificent views in. The patio outside is wonderful in season and a great place to relax and indulge after the games. The large stone fireplace adds an ambiance to the relaxing environment inside with inviting aromas from the kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; with tempt able snacks. Classic Italian food is served here, but it is anything but classic when it comes to the scrumptious flavors in the pasta and Panini offerings. The wine list is delightful and the service staff is second to none. The driving range is big, with a great putting green and short game area that will certainly help you get your limbs limber.
