Rhodes Ranch Golf ClubThe course known as Rhodes Ranch was designed by Ted Robinson and opened in 1997; it is a par 72, 6909 yard joy and one of the most affordable courses in Vegas. Designed to play well with beginners and pros alike, offering challenges for all skill levels, this course is meticulously maintained, with some of the best par 3s in the area and the best that Robinson has ever designed. Driving onto the property will surprise you with wonder as you pass through the archway that is a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired creation that complements the clubhouse. And you look right to view the course through the tall palms, showing you the copious desert landscapes with waterfall and pond glimmering in reflection to the white stark sand bunkers emphasizing undulating green grass under a brilliant blue sky. As 3000 palms line the fairways of this fabulous course, meandering through exuberant foliage, with waterfalls, creeks and ponds interspersed through the immaculate landscape, more detailed accoutrements make this a very dramatic experience.

The views from the clubhouse with its floor to ceiling windows and a gorgeous wrap around deck, leather padded chairs and booth seating; offers magnificent panoramas of the mountains or the course itself. Club and cart rentals are available, as is a driving range, a putting green, chipping area and practice bunker. They do have a teaching pro, as well as classes, a restaurant and full bar to take care of the aftermath and talk.

For 230 yards, the par 3 number 3 flies across the water and onto front and rear bunkered green with a bailout on the front left side of the green. As the course goes on this water hazard goes to the side of the fairway and is only a hindrance to the slicer. On number 7, another par 3, the play doesn't go over water, but the green is set diagonally between bunkers on the backside and trees on the left. Number 16 is a rough par 3, with water in front of the green, a stream that feeds into the lake on the left, and a strategically placed bunker on the right. And to add insult to injury, a bunker and two large palms sit at the rear to make sure you don't over hit. The 18th hole is 441 yards and a par 4 going downhill with a stream flowing down the right side of the green and a bunker on the left right above a pond. The greens run fast but true and can be very exciting to all skill level players. These challenges are what make this a great and interesting course playable to everyone, but not impossible to play. The course staff is always ready to help in whatever capacity they are needed and want to make sure that you thoroughly enjoy your day here. As in many courses around the area, the melding of the natural environment is enhanced only enough to make the play exciting as well as tranquil, as if that could really happen on a golf course. However, the play does simmer down after you are done and have a moment to reflect on the round's ups and downs.
