The Showgirl Must Go OnWith fabulous views of Red Rock Canyon and the Las Vegas Valley, this championship course was designed by Arnold Palmer and offers 36 holes of pure pleasure and opened for play in 1989. Situated in northwest Las Vegas, the hilly terrain makes for an interesting and challenging game with magnificent views. Also available at this unique venue is the Cloud Nine Short Course and a natural grass putting course. The course has received numerous awards over the years, including Best Golf Course in Vegas by the Review Journal readers 13 out of the last 14 years. As the two 18 hole courses meander around the natural rolling hills, large stands of trees and plants hinder somewhat the gorgeous views of the Spring Mountains, Red Rock Mountains and Vegas skyline.

Considered the most difficult hole, number 12 is a par 3 with bunkers in front of the green, although the wide fairways allow for good positioning beforehand, your drive should set you up either just below or on the green. The two courses are a par 70 Palm course and par 71 Mountain course, both designed by Arnold and giving some good play. It was remodeled in 1993 to make room for the Cloud Nine and putting green. There are 5 par 3s ranging from 175 yards to 220 with the hard part coming off the tees. The par 5 number 6 is a 525 double dogleg with split fairway requiring some thought as there are bunkers before and after the green. The 220 yard par 3 number 12 hole is a good play, although the huge boulder set to the right of the green will make your party scramble if you should get a bad tee shot. Suggestions offer you to gently slap it over a bunker to the left of the boulder and you should be good to go and won't all have to look for a squared ball. On the mountain course, the major green here is the par 4 number 10 which is 428 yards out with cart path and desert landscaping strip to get over onto the uneven green. Number 17 is a long one at 557 yards and if the tee shot is hit too hard then you end up in the first hole fairway and you'll end up shooting out of the rough. Be careful all the way around as there are a good amount of bunkers to keep you on your toes; but the play is good and the views awesome, so a good day should be had.

The lighted 12 hole par 3 Cloud Nine was designed by Bob Cupp in 1992 and it opened in 1993; resembling other holes with likewise shot values from around the world, these are 85 to 146 yards with numerous bunkers. The first hole is a horseshoe design double green, while the 10th is an island. Trying to really impress the visitors, number 11, a 96 yarder is encircling a bunker. The putting course opened in 1990 and plays 90 to 180 feet with mini bunkers and flags.

The club is part of the Las Vegas Golf Partners group, with a great restaurant offering breakfast and lunch from 6 AM until 6 PM.
