The Fontana Bar at the BellagioMichael Mina is the founder and CEO of Mina Group Inc in San Francisco as a management company that specializes in operating high end, innovative restaurant concepts. In 2005, Michael Mina was voted Best San Francisco Chef by the San Francisco Magazine and Best California Chef in 2002 by the James Beard Foundation. The Mina Group first started in 2002 and currently has restaurants at St. Francis in San Francisco, at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, The Bellagio in Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Arcadia in San Jose, Dana Point, Atlantic City, and many more that are underway.

Michael Mina has created many signature main and side dishes as well as amaze patrons with his “trio” concept of combining flavors. These main and side dishes have earned Michael Mina the title of “Chef of the Year” from both Bon Appetite and San Francisco Magazine. Mina has also written a book called “Cookbook” which has the same visual presence as his the meals he creates. The “Cookbook” has many colorful and bursting images but also includes raw ingredients and final meal presentations. The book also includes a Trio Visual Reference that illustrates how all of the tri combinations are prepared and how they will look in the very end on the plate.

Michael is an award winning chef with many restaurants that all feature new twists on Mina classics. All of Michael Mina’s restaurants have a sleek atmosphere that also complements the contemporary cuisines. His restaurants mostly feature innovative seafood preparations, vegetarian and seasonal dishes which all come from Mina’s Cookbook. Anthony Amoroso is the Executive Chef who is known as an emerging talent all in himself. He adds his own fusion which helps to bring out the life in the menu. To make your experience at the restaurant even more exciting try the recommended wine pairings from the wide variety wine list.

The wine list includes limited production American and European vineyard selections. Reservations are recommended here at Michael Mina and they are only open from 5:30PM until 10PM on certain days, so be sure to stop and try some of the signature dishes that will have your taste buds begging for more.
