Revenge of The
Mummy
Although fairly new, Revenge of the Mummy has
become a very big hit at Universal Studios
Orlando. This roller coaster of madness is sure
to stand your hair on end. Easy to find, Revenge
of the Mummy is on your right hand side if you
initially start off at the entrance and continue
down the main road until you see a sign for its
entrance. Once you hop in line, the anxiety will
overwhelm you.
Take the time to look at your
surroundings as you wait in line. There is
plenty of interesting artifacts and movie set
pieces scattered through the queue. Other rooms
have interactive pieces such as a touch
sensitive treasure chest that flicker the lights
on and off or a booby trapped jewel that will
spook you with a blast of air as you reach for
it. After climbing a short set of stairs at the
end, you’ll arrive at the entrance to your cart.
What makes this ride so great is
that throughout the ride, which is a roller
coaster that is indoors, the car actually bends
with the track. So instead of it being just one
solid piece moving on the path, hinges allow
each row of passengers to fell the ride in the
same way; so in reality, the front is no
different or better than the middle or back row
(other than the view of the darkness). You’ll
start the ride by taking a few twists and turns
through the black abyss. About halfway through
you will think your done as you pull up to a
station only to find the cursed mummy sends you
through another series of crazy twists and
turns. You’ll end with a message from the star
of the film The Mummy Brendan Frasier.
Even though this ride hasn’t been
open as long as many others, it is already one
of the most popular rides in the entire park. An
absolute must, Revenge of the Mummy should end
up stuck in your head after riding it. This
attraction is easily one of the most remarkable
rides in Universal Studios Orlando.
