World's Magic Kingdom Information on Fantasyland
Fantasyland
Fantasyland, the place for make believe,
where dreams come true, where you wish upon a star, and
where the beautiful castle of Cinderella sits inviting you
into the realm of magical spells. It is the hub of the wheel
of the Magic Kingdom layout and visible from just about
any area; rising 180 feet into the brilliant blue sky of
Florida. Here imagination is king, pixie dust perfect, and
you, as a child or adult, can relax and let the imagery
and excitement take you to another realm, another time when
you looked everywhere, and absorbed the sights, sounds and
smells of fantasyland. There are 10 attractions here that
will reinforce the fact that you are alive in a wonderful
place, safe with your family all around you, totally enjoying
the magic of this kingdom. Ariel's Grotto, is one
of the areas where you and your children can meet the little
mermaid and Belle, take pictures, and hold onto your dreams.Cinderella's
Castle is a marvel of modern imagery, rising to the
sky, spires bold in the sun and colors seem to become more
beautiful. Cinderella's Golden Carrousel is exquisite
in detail and the 90 horses riding the circuit have been
meticulously hand made in 1917 Philadelphia. Dumbo the
Flying Elephant is another carousel type ride in Fantasyland,
made especially for the young at heart. The Mad Tea Party
is an unusual ride in a teacup, that allows you to spin
the cup as you spin around the floor. Mickey's PhilharMagic
is a 3D show, on the biggest screen for 3D ever made. Next
isPeter Pan's Flight that takes you flying through
the night on your way to Never never land, to never grow
old. Snow White's Scary Adventures takes you on a
ride through the movie scenes of Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs. TheMany Adventures of Winnie the Pooh takes
you through various scenes with Pooh and his usual sidekicks
having some great adventures. Pooh's Playful Spot
is a great big playground for kids of all ages to unwind
from the long lines and confines of the theaters to enjoy
sunshine and play. And last, but by no means least, the
favorite of all favorites among everyone, both young and
old is the incredible It's a Small World; with children
images from all over the world singing that beautiful song
"It's a Small World", although to the millions of children
coming here, the world is a huge place, that can be a bit
scary; unless you are accompanied by your parents and family.
With almost all the senses working overtime,
Ariel's Grotto gives the whole fantasyland idea a real person
to touch, see, watch and enjoy. Imagine Princess Ariel as
a mermaid set in a multicolored realm where the kids can
cool off and you can watch their excitement with autographs
and pictures. At Cinderella's Golden Carrousel, the amazing
colors of the horses will mesmerize you as they circle around
almost creating a kaleidoscope of imagination. At night,
the carrousel is ablaze with glorious and brilliant lights
bringing smiles of warmth and comfort to children. Cinderella's
horse is the only horse with a golden bow on the tail. Cinderella's
Castle is a fantastic creation of love and pride in workmanship,
although children are only interested in the aspiring beauty
of the castle and its tall spires. At night, the castle
is ablaze with almost 17 million LED lights that turn the
entire structure into a beautiful mosaic like the murals
inside. With over 300,000 hand cut pieces of Italian glass,
featuring 500 colors, these unbelievable mosaics represent
Cinderella's incredible story of love and hope. After many
years of being unoccupied, the castle's suite has been decorated
and made available for special occasions.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant is a great ride
taking children up in the air in a Dumbo car that goes up
or down depending on the position of the joystick. It is
the only Disney Dumbo that doesn't include a water feature;
although no one seems to mind, as long as they can ride
and thrill with the motions. It's a Small World, after all,
is a wonderful water ride winding through the countries
of the world with small children dressed in their country's
style of clothing singing the main song in their language,
creating a magical blending of voices and sounds that thrill
the kids to no end. It is a most comforting place, magical,
yet earthy, riding the water through the scenes from around
the world and to just enjoy the calmness and serenity of
the environment takes an older adult back to their childhood.
The
Mad Tea Party takes you spinning around in a teacup that
spins as fast as you can spin the wheel in the middle of
the cup. When a few people or children start this cup spinning,
many folks have experienced a terrible case of motion sickness
and the spinning stops or slows down. A weally wild wide.
Mickey's PhilharMagic shows a 3D film about the Disney's
characters with water and smells added for additional emphasis
and fun. Peter Pan's Flight uses animation to show Peter
and his friends battling against the evil Captain Hook while
visitors ride along watching the whole affair unfold in
front of and around them. Snow White's Scary Adventures
was scarier, but has been toned down so the children aren't
so involved in being scared to now enjoying the scenes and
figures. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh have taken
scenes from the beloved books by A.A. Milne and brought
them to life with a great ride that the children love going
through again and again. Just outside the ride, the kids,
of all ages, can run around and let off some steam in the
playground of Pooh's Playful Spot. This is the area best
enjoyed by the wee folks since the play areas are for the
smaller children to run around and go into imaginary trees,
through logs, and just play to their heart's content. Some
of the rides are for older children, although the younger
ones will thrive in them, they don't quite understand it
all, but here, they can be themselves and have some great
fun. The fun that can be enjoyed at Fantasyland never ends,
and is one of the most favorite areas of the park. The castle
is probably the most photographed structure in the land
and people come from all over the world to enjoy its unique
beauty and charisma.
