Enjoy the bounty of nature, but don't give up the niceties of home. Every campsite has water and electricity. The campgrounds are very well taken care of as well as the nearby streams and waterholes. Manu people dream of spending some time directly in touch with the outdoors and this is your chance to do just that. Pitch a tent, hookup a recreation vehicle, or just slide out your sleeping bags in front of the campfire. You're sure to have a memorable experience laying out on the grass. If you find you need anything at all, you can always visit the lodge and restock your supplies.

The Wilderness Lodge can be found nestled right next to Disney's Crescent Lake. The extreme detail put into the resort is easily noticed with the 120-foot geyser located just by the pool that displays it's beauty every hour from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Upon walking through the entrance of the Lodge, guests stand before two 55 foot-high totem poles. Also in the lobby is the 82 foot-tall lobby fireplace with over 100 different hues of red, green, magenta, and brown to depict represent the millions of years of different formed and colored rock. The main Lobby is equipped with four large overhanging tepee chandeliers which helps set the mood of an Old American Lodge. But one of the best features of the Lobby is the bubbling hot spring which continues outside and turns into a waterfall that empties into the Silver Creek pool. However, besides great decorations and complete service, be sure to experience the recreational activities of the resort which includes horse-riding, a camp-fire sing-a-long, and horse-drawn excursions.

The Camping options at Disney provide guests with the fun and robust feel of being in nature with any of the comforts of home they desire.

  • Wilderness Cabin: This cabin is designed for anyone that wants the outdoors, but still likes some comforts of the inside. (Sleeps 6)
  • Preferred Hook-Up Campsite: This site allows your RV access to electricity, sewer, cable, and water. (Sleeps 10)
  • Full Hook-Up Campsite: This site has access to electricity, sewer, and water. (Sleeps 10)
  • Partial Hook-Up Campsite: Here, a tent can be erected and guests have access to electricity and water. (Sleeps 10)
Recreation


Bay Lake Beach: Come out to Bay Lake to watch a memorable sunset by the calm waters. Its a perfect change of scene from the hectic parks and we urge guests to stop by here at least once in their stay.

Pools: Silver Creek is one of the must-see's of the Wilderness Lodge. Equipped with a pool slide, nearby hot tub and kiddie pool, its guaranteed fun for the whole family. Swim along the rock landscaping and possibly see the hourly geyser spit water high into the air.

Children's Playground: Aside from Cub's Den and Buttons & Bells Arcade, it is simply a must to have the children spend time at the Playground. They could have fun for hours on some of the all time playground favorites with slides. For safety the minimum ages starts at 4 so younger children can only watch.

Arcade: Children will simply have a ball at this arcade which has the best in video and pinball games. They can play to their hearts desire in the 24 hour state-of-the-art venue.

Chip'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long: Experience a wonderful campfire packed with songs and great fun at Chip'n Dale's. Roast marshmallows and tell stories to the group and afterwards watch a Disney movie under the stars. A great activity that cannot be found at other resorts.

Watercraft Rentals: Get into some action on Crescent lake with a pontoon boat, canopy boat, a sea ray, or a specialty cruise. The rentals require a fee but the best time is during the fall to catch the sunset on the calm waters.

Tri-Circle-D Ranch & Farm:: From this horse ranch, you can enjoy a horse-drawn excursion, pony ride, or horseback riding. The trail and guided trots can last as much as 45 minutes led by a cowboy or cowgirl pair. The Pony riding intended for guests over the age of two is a fun trot around the stable under the supervision of several trained professionals.

Bike Rentals: Go on an exciting adventure along scenic bike trails of the Wilderness Resort. Your whole party even receive a great workout during the ride. A great activity during a break from the parks.

Fishing: Take the kids on a wonderful fishing trip to kill several hours of your day. This is Disney so the fish will "magically" be willing to bite at the bait. Unfortunately it is catch and release only so you won't be able to grill any of the many fish your kids will reel in.

Video Rentals: Rent a movie at the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile to watch in the comfort of your resort room. There is nothing more perfect than a morning matinee' before getting out of bed or after a dinner at one of the resort restaurants.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue: At the revue, the Pioneer Hall Players excite the crowd with several vaudeville-themed performances. Timely costumes and superb character acting fill your eyes while you fill your stomach with fried chicken, corn, green beans, pork ribs, tossed green salad, strawberry shortcake and other American favorites.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ: Mickey and the crew are opening a picnic area to share a huge country buffet with you. Laugh and eat your choice of several BBQ meats like chicken, beef, and pork. Mickey's friends like Tumbleweed will be around to make sure you're enjoying the food and the atmosphere.

Trail's End Restaurant: Trail's End specializes in American cooking. They happily serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in-between. Their menus include omelets, biscuits and gravy, and cheese grits for a start. Their lunch menu also includes several common favorites like beef, pork, and chicken.
