Disney's Contemporary Resort

Greetings to one of the original and certainly one of the most favorite hotels in Disney World. Styled more to a futuristic theme, this hotel is the one with the monorail running through it and making it simple and easy to get to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. It is within walking distance, but the monorail ride is so much fun and if you are finishing your breakfast at the right time, you could just jump on and ride to the parks.

The cuisine at the Contemporary is fresh, excellent and well prepared. The top restaurant is of course and naturally atop the hotel itself, with grand panoramic views of the Magic Kingdom, Cinderella's Castle, the nightly fireworks show or the Seven Seas Lagoon. The magnificent meals are prepared in the exhibition kitchen where you can watch foods being prepared by the great chefs at the hotel. Using the freshest herbs, spices and seasonings to cook the freshest vegetables, meats and fowl, this magical place will keep you up for hours. Some of their signature delights are sushi, butterscotch crème brulee, brick oven flat breads, tamarind beef filet, handmade Sonoma goat cheese ravioli, and oak fired pork tenderloin. The meals are reflective of the California fusion craze hence the name. It is the food itself that determines this is a class place.

 

Dining

Chef Mickey's Character Dining This fun filled breakfast or dinner buffet serves all the family favorites and then some, with seasonal foods filling out the menu. Breakfast includes a premium fruit bar, cereal, pancakes, Mickey's waffles, eggs, omelets and pastries. Dinner is equally fun and delicious with roast chicken, carved beef and succulent sides, including Mickey's mac and cheese.   California Grill Signature Dining This is the fabulous place to eat with everything coming in fresh including the tableside herbs to help yourself.   The Wave The new Wave is a casual place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with all the American favorites and some new specials that will make your mouth water. Breakfast offers any kind of egg dish, self made muesli and Beta Berry smoothies. Lunch can be delectable with lettuce wrapped sautéed lamb or bay scallops, lump crab cakes, crispy papaya slaw, salads and even vegetarian sandwiches. Not to be left out are the Reuben sandwich, Angus chuck burger with cheese and Applewood smoked bacon. Dinner is special here with the Alaskan black cod with corn and edamame stew with cilantro chutney, braised lamb shank with bulgur lentil stew and red wine sauce and a tasty nouvelle chicken pot pie with thyme pastry. Special cocktails can be had like the mudslide martini, Antioxidant Cocktail or the many varieties of wine. The desserts are so delicious we can't mention them or we'll be in trouble, leaving to get some.
